Methylene chloride is a colorless liquid with a mild, sweet odor. Another name for it is dichloromethane. Methylene chloride does not occur naturally in the environment.Methylene chloride is used as an industrial solvent and as a paint stripper. It may also be found in some aerosol and pesticide products and is used in the manufacture of photographic film.

 

Products Application

        

 

1.It is used for grain fumigation and refrigeration of low-pressure freezers and air conditioning devices.
2. Used as solvent, extractant and mutagen.
3. Used in electronic industry. It is often used as cleaning and degreasing agent.
4. It is used as a dental local anesthetic, refrigerant, fire extinguishing agent, degreasing agent and film remover for cleaning metal surface paint.
5. Used as an intermediate in organic synthesis.

 

1.Handle in a well ventilated area.

2.Wear protective equipment so that the product does not get on your skin, mucosa, clothing or get into your eyes.

3.After using, wash hands and face thoroughly, and do not carry contaminated protective equipment into restroom areas or other such locations.

4.Seal containers tightly each time they are used.

5.As a general rule, use a flooring material in storage and handling areas that will not allow the product to leak underground, such as concrete. Be careful that the concrete does not crack.

6.When working in a sealed location, make sure appropriate local exhaust equipment is installed.

Technical Measures

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Store in a well ventilated area.

Do not allow even a portion of the container to reach a temperature of 40°C or higher.

Proper Storage Conditions

When storing in a pail or other container outdoors, attach a roof, or otherwise cover the container.

Insulate outdoor storage tanks, and install cooling equipment to reduce the temperature of the methylene chloride inside the tank.
