R134A refrigerant is a HFC refrigerant. HFC refrigerants are composed of hydrogen, fluorine and carbon atoms, but contain at least one double bond between the carbon atoms. Due to its composition, gas R134A does not damage the ozone layer or has minimal global warming impact. You do not need a refrigerant handling licence or a refrigerant trading authorisation to handle, sell or store this refrigerant.

Unlike older HFC refrigerants, R 134A is engineered to have a significantly lower impact on global warming. Its molecular structure allows it to break down more quickly when released into the atmosphere.

Lower Global Warming Potential (GWP): This quick decomposition significantly reduces its Global Warming Potential (GWP). With a GWP of less than 1, R134A's potential to contribute to global warming is over a thousand times less than R-134a, making it a much more environmentally friendly option.
