What is FK-5-1-12?
FK-5-1-12 is an important alternative to halon fire extinguishing agents. It is a compound of the fluorinated ketone family. It is a clear, colorless, odorless liquid that is super pressurized with nitrogen and used as a fire extinguishing system. Some are stored in high-pressure gas bottles. FK-5-1-12's chemical structure is the same as 3M's NOVEC 1230 firefighting fluid.

FK 5 1 12 is used for fires in computer rooms, data centers, aviation, ships, vehicles, libraries, oil and gas production and other places. The second outstanding feature of perfluorohexanone fire extinguishing agent is its excellent environmental performance. Its Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP): 0, Global Greenhouse Potential (GWP): 1, Atmospheric survival life (year): 0.014 (5 days), it can be a long-term and durable replacement for Halon and hydrofluorocarbons compounds (HFCs) and perfluorinated compounds (PFCs).
