HFA-134A is now popular in the market as a propellant for pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDl) because HFA 134A is environmentally friendly.
HFA134A also known as tetrafluoroethane,it is a chlorofluorocarbon (HFC or HFA) aerosol injector (containing hydrogen, fluorine and carbon), which is different from Freon CFC (containing chlorine,fluorine and carbon), HFA 134A propellant does not contain chlorine in its molecules and contains hydrogen, which reduces the depletion of the ozone layer. Therefore, tetrafluoroethane can replace CFCs in pressurized metered dose inhglers (pMDl).
