In the semiconductor industry:
The mixture of octafluoropropane gas C3F8 and oxygen is used as plasma etching material, which will selectively react with the metal matrix of silicon wafers. Preparation process of Gas C3F8
The main methods for preparing gas C3F8 are:
1.using activated carbon and high-concentration fluorine gas as raw materials, reacting in a reactor under certain temperature conditions, and obtaining a crude product through dust removal, alkali washing, dehydration and other processes, and then obtaining a high-purity product through distillation, adsorption, dehydration and other processes;
2.using hexafluoropropylene as the raw material, and obtaining it through an addition reaction;
3. extracting it from the by-products of the preparation of fluorocarbon gases such as carbon tetrafluoride (CF4).
