For a long time, R12 has been the only refrigerant for car air conditioners. Since R12 can damage the ozone layer, it allows more solar ultraviolet radiation to reach the earth's surface, which is harmful to human health. Currently, the use of R12 has been banned and R134a refrigerant has been adopted.
R134A is a refrigerant used in car air conditioning systems, introduced as an eco-friendlier alternative to its predecessor, R-134a. The main thing to appreciate about R134A refrigerant is its significantly reduced environmental impact, boasting a Global Warming Potential (GWP) over 99% lower than R-134a. This change reflects a global shift towards more sustainable automotive practices.

Main features of car aC gas R134a

R134a car ac gas does not contain chlorine atoms and does not damage the atmospheric ozone layer.
134a car refrigerant has good safety performance (non-flammable, non-explosive, non-toxic, non-irritating, non-corrosive).
The heat transfer performance of gas R134a is better than R12, so the amount of refrigerant can be greatly reduced.
Working principle of automobile air conditioning refrigeration system
The high-temperature and high-pressure gas from the compressor is sent to the condenser for cooling through a high-pressure hose (the condenser of a car is usually placed in front of the car engine water tank).
The condensed high-temperature and high-pressure liquid flows from the bottom of the condenser to the liquid storage dryer. After being filtered and dehydrated, it flows to the expansion valve through the high-pressure hose.
The expansion valve plays a role of throttling expansion and is also a flow control device. The low-temperature and low-pressure mist working fluid after decompression boils in the evaporator, absorbs a large amount of heat on the evaporator tube wall and vaporizes into gas.At the same time, the hot air sucked from the car by the fan continuously flows through the evaporator, is cooled and sent back to the car, completing the mission of cooling the car.
The low-temperature, low-pressure, superheated gas coming out of the evaporator is sucked into the compressor through the low-pressure hose, compressed into high-temperature, high-pressure gas and reused, thus completing a refrigeration cycle.
