Conversion Of Cold Storage Tonnage And Area

Basic formula:
Cold storage tonnage = internal volume of refrigerated room * volume utilization factor * unit weight of food
Volume utilization factor:
500-1000 cubic meters: 0.4 1000-2000 cubic meters: 0.5
2000-10000 cubic meters: 0.55 10000-15000 cubic meters: 0.6
Food unit weight:
Frozen meat: 0.40 tons / cubic Frozen fish: 0.47 tons / cubic
Fresh fruits and vegetables: 0.23 tons / cubic Mechanism ice: 0.25 tons / cubic
Take the example of storing 50 tons of frozen meat, and actually practice it:
Content product = cold storage tonnage / volume utilization factor / food unit weight
=50/0.4/0.42
=298 cubic meters
If the cold storage height is 3.5 meters, the area = 298 cubic meters / 3.5 meters = 85 square meters
If the cold storage height is 4.5 meters, the area = 298 cubic meters / 4.5 meters = 66 square meters
In summary, as long as we know the type and tonnage of the items stored, we can roughly calculate the area of the cold storage.
